Concept
Walk in Brueghel's paintings

Pieter Brueghel the Elder (1525-1569) will take you along on a journey to the 16th century. Acting as the commentator for his own paintings, he will introduce you to a day in the life of someone living during the medieval period. You will also ‘walk’ into his paintings, and marvel at how the people and painted scenes come to life. You will also experience the religious life prevalent during that time, learn more about the heavy-handed approach taken by the ruling power, but also take part in a medieval celebration and attend a theatre performance. Finally, you will see how our medieval forefathers were first introduced to the New World and its exotic products.
